It’s thanksgiving week and our blog is being filled up with back to back recipes for the same. So, on that list, this is a delicious fruit salad recipe – Creamy grapes salad! This is one recipe that you can whip up in no time.
I have been thinking about doing a salad recipe for this thanksgiving and I had lots of ideas for it. But then, this salad really caught my attention. The reason behind that is it is so very simple and also the creaminess… it reminded me of cold pasta salad that I definitely wanted to make it!
This creamy grapes salad is a sweet and sour combination of different colored grapes, sour cream, cream cheese, vanilla extract and sugar of course. The use of sour cream and cream cheese gives that hint of sourness in this salad. And yeah, the flavor of vanilla along with this creamy mixture is just out of the world.
To make this creamy grapes salad, first we will have to beat cream cheese and sour cream together. And then, the taste and smell when vanilla extract and sugar is added is so very good that I literally would have finished the cream alone.
I loved this salad so much. If you are not a big lover of creaminess then this might not be for you. But, when try it. May be this salad will make you change your mind. Because as I said earlier, this salad is out of the world. Also, this is a very easy way to sneak some fruits into your daily meals. It is very easy and also, kids would definitely love it because of its rich and creamy texture.
Ahh… I forgot to mention about one more important thing. While serving, this creamy grapes salad is topped with brown sugar and some pecans or even walnuts. The crunchiness that you get in every bite along with the creaminess, and also the sweet and sour taste is just amazing. I mean, try it out once. Then, you would know why I said so!
Don’t panic by the ingredients list I said. These are readily available in the market. And if you do not find it, then It is also very easy to prepare at home. Cream cheese is the easiest of everything! It is the same procedure that we follow to make paneer. The difference here is, we do not let the curdled milk sit to get harder. Instead, we process it to make it smooth and creamy.
You can prepare sour cream by mixing heavy cream milk and lemon juice and letting it rest for a day in the counter top. But, all these are easily available in the market and even in most of the online shopping platforms. This salad is had chilled and if there are any leftovers, then have it refrigerated and not frozen. It does not thaw very well.
So, enjoy creamy grapes salad with your loved ones for this Thanksgiving. Stay safe; stay healthy! Happy cooking and eating! And, Happy Thanksgiving people!
